Cabin Camping
March 12-14, 2004
We usually go cabin camping in February, and
this year's event was scheduled accordingly. This is an event that
we invite 2nd year Webelos to attend as they prepare to bridge into Boy Scouts.
Well, 'lo and behold, the weather put a kink into our plans! We had
received snow and freezing rain the week before our original date, and on
Friday, before we were to leave, we received a call from camp advising us
that camp would be closed that weekend due to icy roads. Go figure,
who woulda' thunk that winter weather would affect a cabin camping trip!
Well, we were able to reschedule, albeit at another camp. We
ended up at Camp Tuckahoe in Pennsylvania, and the Webelos who had planned
on attending the original trip were able to make the rescheduled trip. The
scouts ended up with a very good program for the Webelos, an excellent dinner
of deep fried turkey was enjoyed, and fun was had by all!
